A French Empire gilt bronze sculptural mantel clock (1800)

An animal dial with Roman numeral and steel Breguet form hands.

Signed on the dial Roy à Paris.
Movement with anchor escapement, silk suspended pendulum, count wheel striking on a bell. Fitted in a rectangular gilt bronze case with applied laural relief and topped with a bun of flowers and with finely cast and chiseled figure.
The gilt case surrounded by garden attributes.
The beautiful classical lady most probably represents Spring personified. She holds flowers in her hands. Rectangular base with applied relief raised on decorated shaped feet.
